Therapy FAQs
-
I offer an integrative approach tailored to your specific needs. My therapeutic modalities include Somatic Experiencing, Attachment-Based Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT). These approaches are particularly helpful for individuals dealing with complex trauma, attachment issues, borderline personality disorder (BPD), anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I also offer structured therapy based on the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) model developed by Marsha Linehan, PhD, integrating somatic principles to support both emotional regulation and body-based awareness.

Your first session is about creating a space where you feel safe and understood. We will explore your goals, your history, and what brings you to therapy. You can expect a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where we work at your pace. If you're scheduling an Attachment Consultation, the first session will include a comprehensive assessment of your attachment dynamics, followed by a detailed report and feedback session.
-
Yes, I offer Attachment Consultations for Couples, which help partners understand how their individual attachment styles influence their relationship dynamics. This service includes a 90-minute session with each partner, a comprehensive report, and a feedback session. These consultations can be especially helpful for couples starting couples therapy or a couples therapeutic intensive. I do not currently offer couples therapy

Attachment Theory explains how early relationships, particularly with caregivers, shape our ability to form emotional bonds and interact with others throughout life. How we connect in childhood influences our patterns of trust, intimacy, and emotional regulation in adulthood. Understanding your attachment style can help identify relationship patterns, such as why you may struggle with closeness, fear abandonment, or avoid emotional connection. By recognizing these patterns, you can work toward building healthier, more secure relationships in daily life.
-
If you're seeking to work through complex emotional patterns, trauma, attachment issues, or relationship challenges, my therapy approach may be a great fit. I use a blend of techniques, like Somatic Experiencing for trauma and Attachment-Based Therapy for relationship dynamics. I also provide free 20-minute consultations to help you decide if we're a good match for your therapeutic needs.
Telehealth FAQs
-
Telehealth therapy allows you to attend therapy sessions remotely via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform called SimplePractice. This enables you to receive the same level of care you would in person, from the comfort of your home or any private location. If you're using Aetna insurance, we manage your records and sessions through Headway.com.
-
Yes! I participate in PSYPACT, which allows me to provide telehealth services to clients in several other states. If you live in a PSYPACT-participating state, I can work with you virtually. The full list of states includes places like Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Virginia, and more. You can check the full list of eligible states on my website or contact me for confirmation.
-
For many clients, telehealth is just as effective as in-person therapy. Research has shown that virtual therapy can provide the same benefits, especially when using evidence-based modalities like Somatic Experiencing, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapy. If telehealth suits your lifestyle and comfort, it can be a great option for continuity of care.
-
All you need is a stable internet connection, a private and quiet location, and a device with a camera and microphone (such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer). SimplePractice, the platform I use, is easy to access from any web browser or mobile device. You will receive a secure link before your session.
