Kate G. Edwards, PhD
My Story
Hi! I'm Dr. Edwards, and I’m a psychologist living and working here in the Houston area. I am a born and raised Texan, growing up in the Hill Country and obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology at The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. After my BA, I headed north to Denton, TX, I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology at The University of North Texas (UNT). Then 2015, this Texan packed up her car and drove even further north to Syracuse, NY for one of the coldest years of my life to complete my pre-doctoral internship at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Once I completed my internship, Texas called me back for my post-doctoral fellowship in Houston at The Menninger Clinic, an affiliate of The Baylor College of Medicine. So, I packed up and pointed my car south again, and Houston has been my home ever since.

Somatic Experiencing
I am currently a student in the Somatic Experiencing Professional Training Program, seeking to complete the educational and related requirements of the program to use the Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner credential. I am currently taking clients who are interested in SE at a reduced rate.
Psychological Evaluation
I specialize in psychological evaluations that focus on providing a deeper understanding of yourself or your client. The ultimate objective of my evaluations is to provide a guide for treatment and uncover potential factors that may impact clients reaching their goals. This includes personality and psychodiagnostic assessment.
